FAQs
What’s the overall cost of the program?
Program costs vary depending on many factors such as: program duration, city preference, number of excursions, daily agenda and activities, etc. To find out more about program pricing, please contact us at info@ave-academy.com
Is there a deposit required?
Most of our study abroad programs require a non-deposit of $725. Depending on your program, the deposit amount may differ. Additionally, there is a mandatory, also non-refundable March payment due the year that your selected program takes place. We offer add-on trip protection coverage which provides greater flexibility to the standard refund policy. See the AveFlex™ policy guidelines below.
What are the current program dates?
We offer customized group planning to provide a personalized experience for our clients. However, we do have several scheduled programs that may be viewed on our program calendar.
Where do students stay while abroad?
Students are housed with our carefully selected host families in the city where their program takes place. This is one of the most exciting and beneficial aspects of our programs—it completes the immersion experience. To find out more about the host family experience, please visit our Host Family page.
Is food provided for the students?
Yes. Our immersion programs are all inclusive. Students will receive 3 meals daily. We here believe that meal time is an excellent opportunity for students to interact with their host families. However, students will have opportunities to dine out with friends as well.
How much spending money is needed?
Although our programs are all inclusive, students Will need to bring spending money for shopping, dining out, etc.
How many students are in a room?
Students room in triples or quads with other students of the same gender from the group. Students from different schools may room together. When staying in hotels, most rooms contain two double beds.
Why are deposits non-refundable?
Our team begins planning of tours as soon as enrollment is complete in order to provide the highest quality service at the most economical price. As a result, substantial non-recoverable costs and expenses are incurred in planning, preparing, and pre-paying amounts for our programs. This includes the people needed to work with the program, Group Leaders to design and plan the tour, the support staff for travelers and their families as they prepare for travel, as well as the sourcing staff needed to vet, elect, and then negotiate group-based contracts with third party suppliers and vendors.
What about cancellation coverage?
We currently offer cancellation coverage to offset some of the non-refundable monies in the event changes are needed. AveFlex™ is an optional trip protection product and replaces the standard cancellation terms if purchased. Enrollment in AveFlex™ does not change any other terms, conditions, or obligations associated with your trip. Visit the AveFlex™ Plan product page for more details.
Why should get the add-on coverage?
Cancellation coverage lowers the non-refundable amount and allows for cancellation for ANY reason. Given the circumstances of recent global pandemics, as well as inherent uncertainties, this is a good option. It not only lowers potential investment loss, but it gives more flexibility for defferal options with transfers, etc.
Why might I pass on the coverage?
AveFlex™ is an add-on optional cost. If all goes well, and you have no need to modify or cancel your trip plans, you’ve paid the product for peace of mind. It works just like any other type of travel protection. It serves as a measure of comfort.
What about passports and visas?
Each traveler must obtain a passport and any applicable visas for his or her tour prior to departure. It is important to be sure that passports are valid for at least six months after the end of your trip. Visit the U.S. Department of State at travel.state.gov for more information.
What about border closures?
AveFlex™ plan covers requests for cancellation through the expiry date for ANY reason. After the expiry date, no refunds will be honored.
Are vaccinations mandatory?
While we totally understand that not every interested applicate is willing to vaccinate, we can not control what the government decides nor when. If the local government decides to mandate vaccination for entry, we must adhere to those requirements. All standard refund guidelines apply for program withdrawals unless otherwise communicated in writing.
